About

Sound Peak Ventures was founded by Carrie Staub Vomacka in 2019 to leverage her experience in business building, content creation, managing people and teams, and delivering superior client service. While her career was primarily focused on the finance industry, Carrie’s education and her atypical path to finance via non-profit and international affairs provides a unique perspective that can be applied to many industries.

Previously, Carrie spent almost twelve years at UBS Hedge Fund Solutions working with strategic clients, including some of the world’s largest institutional investors. Carrie began her career as an analyst responsible for client-focused investment content and servicing. She spent the next 11 years working closely with HFS’ Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) and others in senior management helping to grow and evolve the business. As a Senior Portfolio Specialist, Carrie’s clients included public and corporate pensions, sovereign/quasi-sovereign institutions, and large family offices.

Leveraging HFS’ institutional client legacy and her experience working with its first external advisory client, CalPERS, Carrie drove HFS’ expansion into the advisory business. She was instrumental in producing investment content for clients and helping to solicit new strategic business. As the worlds of traditional and alternative asset management converged within UBS, Carrie played a critical role in integrating client service and investment content across asset classes through her work on UBS Asset Management’s largest outsourced chief investment officer (“OCIO”) mandate. Carrie also designed and deployed new technology and business processes to achieve efficiency and scale, while supporting the changing client landscape.

Carrie’s early career was spent in a 2-year leadership development Fellowship at El Pomar Foundation (www.elpomar.org) in Colorado Springs, CO. It was at El Pomar that Carrie discovered her love of investing as well as her desire to make the world a better place. This experience also cemented her love of Colorado and all things outdoors – a passion she likes to explore every chance she gets with her husband, three children, and Keeshond dog named Bonno.

Educated at Princeton with an AB in History (hons) and Certificate in Latin American Studies, Carrie has always loved learning, travelling, and exploring the world’s boundless diversity. This passion led Carrie to study international finance and business at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where she achieved her Master of International Affairs (hons).
